What are the most common mistakes made by electrical contractors when they install Lightcloud?
Not keeping track of devices and locations (they should use the Device Table).
Placing Gateway in location with a poor cell signal and having to move it. See Where should the Gateway be located in the building? for proper location guidance.
Miswiring a Controller or Sensor, such as tieing neutrals together instead of installing one neutral per circuit for load monitoring by Lightcloud. See Can the power to a Controller use a shared neutral? and What if you don’t have a dedicated neutral to the load? What do I do to monitor load?
Not following wiring instructions. Ensure that the correct color wires are connected together. See What are the 6 wires coming out of the Controller and the Sensor?
Illegible Device Table due to poor handwriting, such as 9s looking like 7s and 1s looking like 7s. Use the Device ID Stickers provided by RAB wherever possible.
